They really only need to eat a couple times a week. But as long as your tank can handle the additional feeding, you can feed as often as you want. I feed my fish three or four times daily.
One decent meal a day is fine IMO, just make sure that when you are feeding your not seeing a bunch of food hit the ground. If you have to feed 3 or 4 pellets at a time, so be it. GL.
While many fish will survive on one feeding a day or even every other day, ideally they should be fed several times a day to mimic their natural feeding habits. Some fish like many of the Anthias will not live long without being fed multiple times a day.
I feed my FOWLR before and after work, p lus whenever the fish gather at the front glass looking at me ( 2 - 3 times an evening ).
Reef is a few bits before work and a cube of mysis after work, plus either flakes or pellets.
Almost all reef fishes should be fed at least 3 times a day. Some more. They should also be fed a diet made up of fresh, frozen and live foods. If you do this, they will more likely to be healthier and live longer.
