Feeding seahorses

DO they have to eat live brine shrimp or can you feed them frozen and squirt it into the tank? if not where do you get brine shrimp or sea monkey eggs at?

my lfs's sell live brine, but i would try mysis. mix in some frozen when you squirt them the food. also make a feeding station for the seahorses and feed on a tight schedule multiple times a day in small amounts, just make sure they eat. what filtration is on the seahorse tank?

If your seahorses are trained to eat frozen food, mysis shrimp is the preferred type of food to feed. Brine shrimp, especially live, has very little (if any) nutritional value.

If your seahorses do not eat frozen mysis shrimp, you would need to feed live adult brine shrimp (not newly hatched) or ghost shrimp, etc and enrich them with vitamins and other enhancements.

No seahorses yet maybe in the future. just reading up on them, some places say feed them live or frozen brine-mysis. so wondered if i HAD to feed them live foods? Like what happens when you go on vacation with feeding them?

yea, brine is like candy to fish.

reefnut, im very interested in the tanks you have listed in your sig, can you link me to them or do you have some pics i could see? i attempted a seahorse tank but was unsuccessful due to my pony getting sucked to the intake of my filter, what filtration and lighting do you have in you seahorse tank?

i have never had problems with going on vacations. seahorses seem like alot of work since they need live foods and fed 3 times a day. more i read about them i'm not even going to get into them.

They dont need live food and they dont need to be fed 3 times a day. But they ARE a lot of work.
Coolest thing you will ever keep.

Get captive born from a good source. They will be eating frozen food.
My wife takes care of mine when Im gone including the fry.
Read all the back-posts. Lots of good people and info.
