Feeding silversides to carpet nems

I've fed them silversides in the past. But, I believe silversides are a freshwater species and are likely lacking some nutrients that the anemone will need.

@bradleym is another anemone expert on here.

Back when I had 'nems, the word was they weren't that great for them, but most of all they'd be mostly regurgitated and foul up the tank, no matter how small I'd chop. Small bits of raw prawn, and really not that often, worked best. Lighting is as important.

I would agree with the rest. They'll eat it, but there are many better options. Prawns, scallops, tuna, etc. are all much better. And smaller pieces help with digestion, pencil eraser sized pieces work just fine for nems of every kind. Big carpets will take bigger pieces but don't need it.

Depends on the anemone but I feed krill or mysis.
My larger anemones with lager tentacles like Magnificas I feed krill.
Smaller tentacles anemones like BTA or giganteas I feed the larger mysis.

My mags do not take mysis it mostly just floats through.

But you can feed small pieces of shrimp, squid etc. but for me it is just easier to feed the above.

One of the LFS here says krill is not good due to the exoskeleton possibly damaging inners of nems. Anyone's thoughts.
