Feeding SPS?

Anybody here use any of the "coral foods" like BRS Reef Chilli or Fauna Marin stuff? Any significant results good or bad?

I just starting using a combo of Reef Roids, coral frenzy and Argent cyclopeeze.....too early to notice any results other than immediate polyp extension when feeding.

I have been using coral frenzy for a few weeks. Still early to notice anything. I found it better to put a little in first, rather then to dump it all at once. Just a little, then I wait for the feeder tenticles to come out. Then I finish it.

Eric your going to get mixed responses from the usage of coral foods, but one thing is for certain you will have to watch your water quality. Personally I have used some of those mentioned in the past and never really noticed any significant difference in color or growth...The one thing I have tried which really helped was adding more fish and feeding them more often...of course water husbandry increased as well...LOL but I'm a believer in heavy in and out.

I agree with Mike. I have tried a bunch of them and I'm not sure if I can attribute any benefits directly to them. If your phosphates and Nitrates are consistently 0, then it's probably a good idea to feed your fish more often. That seems to help me as much as the other stuff. One that I have been keeping my eye on is PhycoPureâ„¢ Zooxanthellae from Algagen. I'm curious to see how that one plays out.

Not me....I have algae scrubber :) it works good for my tank

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Although my water parameters check out fine, there's obviously some nitrate/phosphate present as several species of macro algae are growing (kept in check by 4 very large trubo snails). Not sure if I want to start using a coral food. I will be adding more fish eventually as there are only 2 in the tank.
