Feeding wild fish

I've just gotten a wild longfined cardinal fish ( I wanted captive bred) so I've had him for about 3 days he doesn't go for the food I add (flakes) and I've seen him peck the sand once, should I be worried? Or will he follow my captive fish soon and eat flakes?

try adding garlic or entice to get him eating.

try other foods such as BB or mysis as well.

yes, you need to train him to eat soon.

plankton is a term refering to any floating object in a body of water .... [so ure flakes when floating are planktons ;) ]

if you mean Phyto plankton, then no, copepods and such feed on phyto, and fish feed on them ...

you need to get the fish eating. so that is why I adviced you to use the food sources fish can accept as food easier. like Brine Shrimp.

soak it in garlic, and feed.

I've never had a saltwater fish go for flakes. Try some good quality frozen foods and they will go nuts over it. Give them a little more option. Compare it to you eating soggy bread every day.... I don't blame the fish for wanting something better.

My clowns go nuts for flakes and my lfs said it was the best to pick, I was just starting out so I picked that. Im going to get some frozen food next time.
