feeding

I dont' feed my zoas although I have seen them accepting meaty foods in the past. Does anyone target feed their zoas/palys? If you do, do you see any increased growth or coloration changes?

Protopalys, some palythoas, grandis's all were receptive to direct feedings. a little faster growth, coloration is more affected by lighting.

I've read a person's (it may have been Dr. Borneman), can't remember but the chapter was about feeding palys or zoas and what he does is;
He gets a plastic pipette or syringe, and a small water glass from the kitchen. A shot glass would be even better because it's thick it won't break, and it's the perfect size for smaller zoa colonies.
Then he turns off the tank's power heads.
Then he puts the small water glass over the zoas or palys that he wants to feed, making sure to get all the air out of the glass.
Then he draws up some food (marine snow or whatever) that he has put in a small bowl beforehand.
Then he draws it up into the plastic syringe.
Then he shoots the food under the glass that is over the zoas.
And that way the palys can feed without the special paly food being whisked away by fish or that kind of thing.
