Female Lyretail ?

Is there any chance this could be a male Lyretail even though it's pretty orange? I introduced a male into the tank and he's hid in the rocks for the first 4 days and hasn't come out. He might already be dead , but I'm wondering if he was intimidated by the existing ng Lyretail pictured and wondered if it was a less colorful male.
