Female question.

I have a Clarkii clown and a Percula clown. I know the dominant one in a bonded pair because the female but does the same still happen with different species. I have them in a 20g nano and they both do great with each other and have had 0 problems with them.

I have never seen a Clarkii Percula bonded pair. Do you have a photo or a video of them?

My guess would be in time the clarki may become aggressive towards the perc, especially in small quarters.

When ever you get real close to the glass they hit that
Corner where a powerhead pushes hard. I call it a night time work out for them. They spend most of their time together except the purcula sleeps on the sand and the Clarkii I haven't really seen fully asleep but she likes it up on the rocks. I have a green star growning that I'm considering moving but would like them to host in it when it's big enough.

Well they are two different species and that doesn't change the base root they are both clownfish and can bond together. Is this a pairing which people do often not really because if they do produce you will get a hybrid etc. however the possibility for them to bond together is completely there and you could end up with a nice bonded pair. Could it go south and they not bond over time? Well yup this could happen too.

They are doing wonderful now, they are also very young. Once my green star grows it will be something for hosting and hopefully that will ++ for them and not cause them to be territorial and not sharing. Thank you for the advice! I'd post the video but it's not working.

Clarkii and percula are actually less closely related than humans and bonobos.
Their geographic ranges overlap as do their host preferences, but no mixed pairs or hybrids are known from the wild - must have a reason.

Well let's hope they continue to be best friends. If they do not get along after the 150 is up I will pick up another per and Clark and see how that works. Hoping they stay best friends and I have a unique pair! ��
