female wrasses

Do female wrasse at some point turn into males? I thought I read that they will in time. To speed it up have other male wrasses in the tank.
Educate me, please.

Not dominated by a male.
Just seems strange because I had a female flame wrasse that wasn't much dominated but still after two years never turned male. There was other wrasses in with her and she would "flash" at them but her color never changed. She wasn't the top wrasse but there wasn't much aggression between them.

odd cause in my experiance flame wrasse are one of the quickest to change. i have never been able to keep a female a full female, even when i had my 6" super male flame, all the females eventually turned into sub-males

Another stupid question, what if I put a couple/few pairs of female wrasses? Are we talking WW3? Leaning to flame, hooded and eightline flasher. It depends if my buddy can source them.

More than likely you will be fine. I have 4 different types of male wrasses in my 125 without any issues.

I bought a pair of female flames and right now I have a male and submale after 2 months. Hopefully they will stay non aggressive to each other, but time will tell.
