Few Questions on Treatment

Grizzled & Cynical
Looks like I am going to have to fallow my tank. I have a pretty extensive collection of fish in my 265, so am going to have to run a few treatment tanks. I have a plan, but wanted to get a bit of feedback:

1. Most of my fish, approx 20 of them, will have to live in my old 90 gallon tank for 12 weeks, and I plan to use cupramine at .4 as treatment. Fish include tangs, pyramid butterflyfish, cardinals, and a pair of clowns.

2. Am thinking about doing either TT or CP with my pair of dwarf angels and then observing them in a 20L that is one of my fish QT tanks.

3. My second fish QT, a 30L, I will use for 7 anthias - a bit tight, but is my only option. Cupramine as treatment.

4. I have a mandarin and a few leopard wrasses that I am thinking of putting into my coral QT tank that is setup as a full reef. Given these fish are ich resistant, can I rely on observation, or do I run the risk of them carrying but not showing symptoms without treatment? If I have to treat them, any suggestions? My leopards eat prepared foods, but the mandarin does not so a bare QT tank is likely a death sentence.

5. I have an aqua medic fish trap, so that and night catching should allow me to get out most of the fish, but I'm worried about how best to catch a diamond watchman goby. Anyone had success catching one of these fish?

Open to any and all suggestions or comments on my planned approach.

I'm cool with everything except #4. I would also fully treat the mandy & leopard wrasses. I've successfully used both CP & TT on mandys before, so whatever you plan on doing with the dwarf angels, do also to the mandy. Have you ever tried feeding Nutramar Ova? Most will eat it. My wild caught pair sustained on ova for 9 weeks in QT. I fed them several times a day.

The leopard wrasses are a bit more tricky. I would probably run them thru TT.

Thanks for the comments! I do feed Ova periodically, and the Mandarin certainly may be eating some of it, but I have not observed it directly so always assumed absent observation that it is not happening.

Your objection to #4 is, I assume, based on the fact that the leopards may be carrying ich but just not showing symptoms? Don't disagree BTW.

Both the mandarin and wrasses may be harboring the parasites in their gills, but just not showing any symptoms under the skin due to their thick mucous coats.

TT for the leopards. They will be fine. Fresh sand in a container each time.

Also just wondering, thoughts on mmethylene blue for ich? I see ich in the list of things it is used for but no one ever says it works. I ask because one leopard I purchased from a LFS & they keep the blue in their system. This leopard spent about a month in their system with meth blue. I now have this leopard in my display for about 3 months. I never treated proactively for ich. I only treated metro for 8 days, then in he went.

I wouldn't suggest that for anyone, & maybe I was lucky, but I have been debating only using the blue & a dewormer for future leopards.

Meth blue is usually just a fungus preventative, often used with tanks that have eggs waiting to hatch. I'd never use it in a QT and have never heard of meth blue even being suggested for sw ich treatment. There are dozens of products that list ich treatment as a use that don't work. I'd use TT with leopard wrasses, but wait for Snorvich....he's the expert on these fish.

After some more reading I do see ich referenced with meth blue but... I think they are speaking about freshwater ich, not sw ich.

So I guess I'll be needing to form a new game plan myself, for the leopard at least.
