Few shots of my fishes

I spend a lot of my time in the Lounge here and post my fish pics there. But I also spend a good amount of time in the reef fishes section as well, so I thought I'd post a couple pics of my fish here too. Nothing very rare, but I like them.

Are the date stamps on the photos correct. Seems like amazing growth rate on those angels. I came across a beautiful Bali juvenile. I watched it for 2 months and finally had to bring it home. It's been in my outdoor frag tank for about a month. Growing it out in natural sunlight on a diet of natural algae and pods.

If it behaves well with the frags I may try it in my display tank.

Beautiful growth pics.

Yes, the date stamps are correct. Of course, they read: year, month, day. So transformation from juvi to adult takes ~6 months.

It was interesting - when I got the larger one (I had the smaller one first), it had signs of beginning its transformation, but after I put it in with the other juvi it seemed to actually regress some for a time, then it finally went forward with its change again. I was wondering if the presence of another juvi may have either stopped or even slightly reversed the change.

Hey, happy to finally see photos of your beautiful fishes. I was always curios about your collection, so happy to see some photos.
Amazing to have two adult emperors tone ther, they are one of my favorite angels. I missed mine a lot.
Also great to see that MI going strong after all these years, I also miss mine, they are my favorite fish, I hope to someday get one again.
Hope too see more updates photo of your collection.

Thanks for the kind words!

Nice, what do you credit to keeping the MHLLE away? I grew an emp from a tiny juvenile to a full adult, but once the face started to pit, I could never slow it down. Six years later, he is a real eyesore, but otherwise his color, activity, ect are still fine.

The smaller one has a spot on one side of its head. It has been there a long time and hasn't gotten any bigger. I was working a lot and the water quality got bad for a while, but after a major water change it has been fine, and the MHLLE has stabilized.

Here is a video of the tank. There is a black Naso in the video, he has passed away. He replaced a blonde Naso that disappeared. After the black Naso passed, I found the missing blonde Naso living in my overflow. He had been in there for 6 months! So now I have the 2 blonde Nasos.

lol, dude, the most amazing thing about the video is how the royal gramma have each staked out the exact same amount of rock and stand guard...they can be so brutal towards each other...I lost one of a pair when in my 250...such territorial lil sobs...and the size of their mouths is bizarre in comparison to the size of their body, so silly looking...
love the video, thanks for sharing!

any idea of the cause? looks contained and lateral line looks excellent...

I was working a lot and let the water quality decline, I think that was the cause. I thought it might heal, but it looks like it is there to stay.

The grammas are funny. I had 6, but seem to be down to 5 now. Typically they stay in 2's, with the other one off by itself. But they do bicker regularly. You would think that if they didn't like each other that they would spread out as far as possible, but they really always stay in the right 1/3 of the tank, and never go past the halfway point. Grammas have always been one of my favorite fish with their great colors and grumpy personalities, but I never thought of keeping multiples til I read it here on RC. My first crack at it I got 6 and they whittled down to 2. This time I got six and I seem to have only 5 (it is hard to count them as they are always ducking in the rocks and are rarely all out at the same time) now after 6-8 months.

Wow, great video!
Haha, I can't believe that naso survived in the overflow for that long ! What was it eating? And is he back in the DT now?
