i am looking for any information about the Fiddler Stingray (Trygonorhina fasciata) any and all information would be appreciated...TIA

i was wondering about that. a mall around me locally has one in their aquarium, i THINK it is the same species.so i was just kind of curious

The trick to the red list is that it's bad news for a species to be on it, but it also provides no protection or regulation. They aren't on CITES, so there are no restrictions. The same situation as the Bangaii Cardinals currently. BTW, a real good source for fish info is fishbase.org . Plug the name in there and you'll get all sorts of good info, such as locality, diet, reproductive rates etc.

Here's the description of what the IUCN Red List is all about. It's basically an endangered list based on science instead of politics. As a result, while it might be a fairly accurate list of endangered or troubled species, it carries no legal weight.
