Fighting clowns

I just received two true percs from Liveaquaria this morning. At first they were doing just fine but now, a couple hours after putting them in my QT, they are fighting like mad. Both are the same size, about an inch and a half.

Theyre fighting hard for a bit, take a little break then back to fighting.

Is it possible they have both turned to females at this size before I got them or is this normal?

The same size is the issue. They will figure out who is going to be the dominant fish. I would monitor it to be safe.

Well I laid down for a couple hours and it seems they figured it out already. They're acting just fine now.

Wow hope it works out ok! Kinda scary. Were they lip locking and stuff?

Oh yeah, beating the snot out of each other. Locking mouths, biting tails. Other than some frayed fins now theyre doing good.

IF it stays brutal just split you QT tank in the middle with egg crate. Give them a time out

You should start seeing them pair up if one of the clown starts twitching in front of the other clown.

So far so good. They're hanging together like best friends now. If one swims away the other is right along side.

After looking closely both have their fins tore up pretty bad. Pecs, tails, everything. Hopefully those heal up.

Try feeding their food with garlic guard. Will help boost immune system.

well ok everything should be good from here they should fight a little bit but not to much good luck
