Fighting Conch?

I have 2 in a 90, it's been over a year and I have four peppermint shrimp. No problems so far:confused:

When I tried introducing a pair of conchs, my PP shrimp were on them in minutes, and had them eaten in a few more seconds. It was like them hitting the water rang the dinner bell.

I've had both together for 3 years. Never heard of that. Are you sure you don't have camel shrimp, they are easily mistaken and camels do not play nice.

I had two one inch fighters in my seventy five and they are dead after two weeks...either the coral banded or the peppermints got them. Healthy one day and cleaned out shells the next.

I have 2 small ones in a 52 for a year, with peps, no problem. The reason I have 2 is that the first one disappeared for 3 months, to resurface within five minutes of the second one hitting the sand. They're great subsurface cleaners. You may not see them for weeks on end.

The term 'fighting' conch is a misnomer: this comes from their lurching behavior during mating.

Get some peppermint shrimp, and those conchs will be history.

  Are you sure you don't have Camel Shrimp? I have two Fighting Conch with two Peppermint Shrimp and they all get along just fine...

I agree with him. Peppermint are very inacent creature, peaceful, and shy, but agressive toward aptasia. I don't think the peppermint Sh. have anything to do with the conch's death. I doubt.
