Fighting true percs! help!?

Before I had a perfect pair of true perculas. They went everywhere together. Cuddled in their anenome. But the male(i think was the male because it was the smaller one) mysteriously developed some kind of infection. It started with a small discoloration then it turned into a big hole on the side of its body! It died about a week ago.

Anyways I went down to my lfs to get a replacement. I brought the new true perc home and it chased the existing female or male, I really don't know, out of the anenome.

The original perc I have is getting beat up pretty badly by the new one I just got. It's fins are all split up and torn. They are about the same size at about 2 inches. Is there any chance of them pairing up??? Advice would be appreciated otherwise I am just going to sell the new true perc back to the lfs.

at that size it sounds as if both fish are already female. if things dont imprve in the next day or so I would think about taking one of them out of the tank

Can clownfish "change" sex more than once? If you have a small female, then it is introduced to a larger female - will the smaller one change to male? How long must they be "mated" or how old are clownfish when sex is determined?

Ah thanks for the advice. I think I do have two females on my hands. I am going to remove the new one and put it in my qt tank until I decide what to do with it. In the meantime I really want a pair again! How should I go about this? Get a tiny baby true perc? I read that the really small one's have yet to change to a male or female.
