i have a question about these guys in pairs. if i were to order from a web site and were to get 2 males, would they get along? if not, could someone point me in the direction of a company that will get me a pair? i would like one in my tank, but a pair would be awesome.

If you check out Reeflife in Dania, they have 2 in one of their tanks and they are both beautifully colored...as long as tehre are lots of rock for them to hide in I dont think it would be a problem. Currently I have 2 male fairy wrasses...a male lubbucks and Solor...and they chase each other for a bit but thats about all...

Males, or a 'pair' of male & a female can be kept together without any serious trouble as Bret states.

Those sold as pairs are not natural pairs, but they can behave as a pair on occasion. I have not seen their spawing in tanks, however.

I do not think that fairy or flasher wrasses have ever spawned in captivity. Or at least not as I can find out.

thanks everyone, to be more specific, these filamented flasher wrasses are going in a 46 gallon bowfront aquarium, they will be housed with a small percula clown, a small female bluehead wrasse, a redlip blenny, and a very small carribean flamefish. as i also have a 7 gallon sump, and am setting up a css 65 protein skimmer, i was questioning about adding these guys. i love them, but am i able to have 2 or will one have to suffice?

I hooked you up S, let me know how it goes. Anyone wants some flashers or maccloskers I know a guy sells them for $35. Hopefully I can get someone to "pay me forward" should you come across a good deal
