Filefish

Would I be able to keep an aiptasia eating filefish in a 29 gallon with mushroom corals? I saw one at my lfs and fell in love but i'm worried about it eating the mushrooms and whether or not it will get along with the flame hawk I plan on getting.

i have one in my DT and it's never touched my mushrooms that I can tell, even after it cleared out all of my aiptasia. loves practially any food i put in the tank except NLS pellets. I woudlnt anticipate any issues with a flame hawk. I'd be more concerned about the hawk bothering any inverts you have in the tank.

filefish in that tank should be fine, just keep an eye on him with the corals. he may nip, but i don't believe he will eat them. the hawk would most likely be fine as well, as its going to spend most of its time perching and hiding. be careful again with him though, as they sometimes are aggressive and could harass the filefish. the filefish at my work also absolutely loved getting pieces of nori and would just suck them down like a piece of spaghetti. they're very interesting fish.

They're easy to catch and remove if he eats coral
