I have a hole drilled in the side of my tank, i would really like to plug it up, whats the best way about doing this? Also i live in Australia, are they any good shops or websites i could get bulk heads, slip fittings or any general plumbing supplies from?

Acrylic or glass?

If it's glass, you can take a equally thick piece of glass and patch the hole with aquarium safe silicone put a solid bead around the perimeter of the hole and press the glass pane to seal the hole.

Either of those two suggestions will work very well. Which you choose will depend on your future plans for the tank. If you never intend to use that hole again, the glass patch is by far the best alternative. On the other hand, if sometime down the road you end up needing it to plumb a sump/refugium/etc, then use a bulkhead.

Depending on the location of the hole you could always just put a valve on it and use it to easily empty water during water changes too...
