I have the same stuff and I do not dose vodka. Worst thing Iv ever encountered in the hobby. Started off all dry rock/sand and have had it for months. It's on the walls of my sump, filter sock, and rock work.
Someone told me to check for air freshener sin the room. I had a large basket of those little wax cubes you melt over a lightbulb for scent. I removed those and it helped a lot but a month later I still have it on my glass and a bit in my overflow. I hate it. Compared to my other tank it looks milky and not as clear.
I cut the vodka back to 1 ML per day for a bit and it has gone. I am trying to get the no3 up a bit to lower PO4. I really shuda paid attention in chem class.
I cut the vodka back, started running GFO and only run the skimmer a couple of hours a day. The film is basically gone but the PO4 is still .16 and the NO3 is still zero. Any thoughts?
