Film on the waters surface

I have a milky film on the surface of my tank. I have good water movement on the surface, 2 450 gph power heads breaking the surface in a 30 gallon tank as well as 2 hang on the back filter boxes. I don't see the film unless I shut of the pumps at feeding time. Should I worry?

Do you have a skimmer? If not you'll probably want to look into one. I had a lot of shiny, oil like substance on the water surface before I got my skimmer. Ever since I got mine the water has been much clearer and the fish seem happier and healthier.

For a 30G you can probably pick up an internal skimmer meant for a nano if you're on a budget.

Lay a paper towel over the surface for a few seconds. It will absorb it.
