I guess this is probably Brooklynella? (Or is it called Brooklynosis? I'm seeing both terms used.) I'm not able to get pics, sorry.

Two weeks in copper has not helped, I can say that much. He is active though, and eats anything I offer.

Copper doesn't cure brook, only formalin does. The skin conditions sounds like brooklynella; but fish with this parasite don't live for two weeks, much eat and act normally. Grammas seldom recover from any of these protozoan parasites, even when caught early...I think its something else. Possibly bacterial. Is the skin sloughing or peeling off? That's the classic sign of brook. Just best-guessing without a pic, though.
