Filter Direct RO/DI

Seems like a good unit to buy. I like the idea of two DI filters. Gives you time to buy a new filter. When you see the first one fully change color, you will still have the second one until you install a new one. Not sure what others are buying from them though.

so what are some of the thinks I can expect to notice with this. My current water im using is horrible. I use a Pur filter when drinking it...theres crap floating around in it!

If you buy from FilterDirect your on your own if you have a problem, there is no one you can call for help. ALL you can do is email and watch as you get back the standard reply of "Please send it back to us in California and we will send you a replacement" And you can imagine who is paying for the shipping!
My 6 stage unit never worked right from day one, it had construction faults that caused water to leak around the Ro seals, so the TDS would vary wildly, at some points I would check it and it would be 0ppm then 2 hours later 20ppm. Later it rose up to 60ppm.

As some one posted above, get a unit from www.airwaterice.com
I chucked my 6 stage Filterdirect unit into the closet after 4 weeks of playing games and decided for $50 more to get a unit from a company that at least had a phone number. I am very happy with my Typhoon unit, I have had Zero TDS from day one and I can reach Walter if I have problems.

Buy What? Which unit?

I am going to buy it. Do I need anything else to make it work? How do you know when to change it? How often?

I have that exact one... works great. I go from a TDS of 320 down to 1. I got the faucet adapter too just because I rent and didn't want to mess with the plumbing.

They also list thier phone number on the ebay listing if that matters to you.

And half of those people don't have a TDS meter! You know what they say "Ignorance is Bliss"

if you need any kind of adaptor to hook it up he sells them. like the garden hose adaptor. to test your water get a TDS meter. he sells them as well. as long as your TDS is 0 you are good to go. i bought mine from aquasafesystems on ebay. its been going for 8-9 months now. its still at 0 TDS. the only thing i like better on mine is that it uses 1 large DI chamber instead of 2 smaller ones. less hasle.

Hmmm I have searched up and down, please show me this Phone Number, I really want to call them.

BTW I tried to get to there store front where they sell their filter replacements

http://stores.ebay.com/Self-Depot_W...QcolZ4QQdirZ1QQsclZallQQsotimedisplayZ2QQtZkm

I get "This store has been closed." from ebay, wonder what thats about!
