Filter Socks - GROUP BUY

Anyone interested in filter socks?

I have found an online source that sells the 100 micron polypropylene felt filter bags for 2.83 each. Bag size is 7" diameter x 16.5" in length. This "may" be the very same bag that marinedepot sells for $15 ea.

The bag looks like this:

The catch is that 50 come in a case. I can order 25 but they'll add $1.99 (big deal) handling fee on to do that. I'm buying 25 just for myself but thought if others were interested then I'd just go ahead and buy a case of them. Cost would be "at cost".

I'll probably wait till Monday evening to place my order.

4 x 14's are 2.46 ea but I'm setting up my system to use bigger bags.

If you could use at least 25 of them then you could do your own order.

It would be nice to have clean filters for 2 months, without doing the wash, may I will by a box of them, then sell the rest..Are you getting yours from filterbags dot com?

You get creative for housings.

One of mine is simply hung by a piece of PVC.

Here's a simple box frame I made out of scrap acrylic for another one I have.

Then I saw someone else on here (I think it was Ding2somebody) that made one out of PVC.

I followed his lead for my latest one I just made today using 6" PVC.

I actually saw something like that in homedepot. It's for sprinklers system...I have one in the canal too, but not sure how big is it. Is it the same one?

Pictured above is simply 6" diameter PVC pipe. I used a hole saw to cut all the holes in it. Home Depot doesn't carry 6" PVC but Lowes does. I found a 2' section labeled as a riser pipe. It wasn't cheap though. Cost $15 but considering I made 2 holders out of it I figured it wasn't too bad.

An 8' section only costs $26 and you'd probably get about 7 holders out of it.
