filters and skimmers

I need suggestion on what should I get for my "fish only" 50 gal to be tank... At this point my options are
Eheim 2215-37 Classic Canister Filter 2215 and AquaC Remora MJ 1200 Protein Skimmer or should I get Pro Clear Aquatics 75 with skimmer? Thanks

The best filtration you can get would be 50 pounds of live rock and the best skimmer you can afford. A canister might be useful, but I would let it be a lower priority than the LR and skimmer.

Never used a pro clear skimmer but i got a remorea pro. works great no complaints.

Ive decided to go with Pro Clear Aquatics 75 filter, havent decided on skimmer yet, but now I have couple of questions:
1. Can I set my tank without skimmer for a while?
2. does skimmer and filter have to be same brand or it doesnt matter?

You can set your tank up without a skimmer. I do strongly advise you get one though. They are very good at removing things that will cause you problems. As for what brand that is up to you. I have used Aqua C skimmers and found them to very good. i am sure there are more than a few you could choose from. I have also heard good things about euro reef. deltec. asm. never used them but heard good things about them.

The Pro clear skimmer is a piece of crap. I know from personal experience.

Euro reef, asm, deltec, aqua c
