I have a 125 gallon at my business. I have a sump with a pump for filtration with an overflow.

Is it possible to just have a filter to hang on the back? This would make it easier for me because some (most) of my staff do not know how to get the sump to work when air gets caught in the tubes, and it would just make me feel that my fish are safer...

Right now I have had the canister filter disconnected for about a month or more, and I have not had any causalities and the water quality is great.

Does any one else just use a simple hang on the back filter for this size tank? It is FOWLR and will stay that way.

I'm not sure on the HOB filter, but if your loosing the overflow dew to air in the line I would think a aqualifter pump would solve that problem.

There only around $10.

That is not the only thing that happened.

I have not had time to deal with my tank for the last like 2 months due to school and taking care of the business. So, I paid someone monthly to take care of it. Well, if I am paying someone to take care of my tank when I can not be around, it should not be overflowing.

Today the tank overflowed, and then when I got that under control, the sump was overflowing. I'm not sure what the deal is. I think it could be the pump, but it is brand new. Also, if this happens when I am not there, it could be a MAJOR problem/mess. I don't want to have to worry about that when my employees are there.
