I just purchased an 80 bowfront non RR and I am going to set it up FOWLR. I would like to get some type of sump system w/ a built in skimmer. Of course I will need an overflow box.
Does anyone know of a good one they would recommend?
The LFS here in Smalltown USA is moving and everything is 50% off. They have a Tom Aquarium Rapids Pro PS3. (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Product/Prod_Display.cfm?pcatid=16747)
With the 50% off it will be $115 which seems good if it isn't junk. Not a lot is written about it.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance!

Never seen one of those but if it requires an aqualifter pump it is a flawed design. Use a U-Tube design like an Amiracle or QuietFlow. Do not trust anything else.

I have one of these and can vouch for it's simplicity and ease of use.

It sure does.
I really didn't think it was worth the money.
What is a good all-in-one sump system for non rr tanks?
I have seen quite a few, but the prices are all over the place...

I don't like all in one systems. What do you do if the skimmer is crap...which most of them are? You either live with poor skimming or disable it and lose that space and get a better skimmer. A simple sump to house the skimmer of YOUR choice and a place to grow chaeto is all you really need. There are good skimmers out there now that are not expensive. A 20 gallon long and a few baffles works great and is hundreds less than an all in one system.
