I have a sump with a filter sock. I also have a spare penguin 200 hob and wonder if I should run it with the filter.out and bags of carbon in it. What do y'all think?

Less is more sometimes... The rock should be your primary biological filter. Everything else might, not, or could be a mistake... KISS. GL

The sock should be sufficient as long as it is properly cleaned to export the rotting materials it has captured but continue to decay in the sock. Weekly cleaning means some rotten materials have been in the soc for seven days. I rotate socks every other day and and typically overfeed. Good reefing

I run carbon 24/7. Does a nice job of polishing the water.
