Final Website Suggestions

Well everyone we will be releasing our new website soon, it's very VERY nice. I'll post the things we have on the site already and what I need from all of you is any final touches that you can think of that we might need.

What we have:

Forums, buy, sell and trade plus members only room, website suggestion room, and a BOD room

member list,

picture area,

sponser banners/links,

RC link that shoots to our forum on RC, event calendar...this includes an up to date list plus an actual calendar,

pet store directory,

the membership form (updated),

and a news section that can be updated as soon as news happens

Please let us know if there is anything else you'd like to see......Jason
 
If we are going to have people be able to pay for their memberships electronically, why not do the forms the same way? Im pretty sure if people are actually able to download the form they would also be able to fill out a simple form online to register as well. Then we could just use the printed forms for "non-internet" people.

I think the easier we make it for people to join the more people we will get.
 
It would be great if the pet store directory has the stores hours (if it doesn't already)

New page sounds like a large improvement, can't wait to see it.
 
Wow thats a nice upgrade list...

I would like to personally thank everyone in advance for their efforts on upgrading the site.....cant wait to see it.

Yeah really, thanks guys! It does seem like a lot of work. It'll be nice to go to a site that is updated and has traffic on it.

Are the forums going to be family friendly like it is on RC? Or can we have a "lounge" to go to where it's a little more relaxed? How about mods? Do we need mods for anything?

FYI this is 100% doable. We have a form that must be filled out electornically and its emailed to our admin account and we get all information that we need plus additional information for security purposes. LMK if you need some help with the code for doing that
 
It's already done... The existing site allows users to register online and pay for thier GIRS membership with PayPal. We just need to finish configuring it.

It doesn't have hours yet but if we can get the hours we can list them.

The forums will be family friendly, but I don't think we need to block out every word like RC, as long as there are no racial, gender, etc. comments used I don't see why we would have a problem. We...the BOD are currently the "mods", until the site has a good amount of use I think we can handle it.......were you applying for the job?
 
Nah...not applying for it. I'd rather troll than patrol! :lol:

Family friendly is good but I would still like to see a lounge so you guys can talk about things like Jeremy and his profession of blowing glass. :D

I could see how you could confuse the issue.. but I dont blow glass for a living.. I do, however, drink beer from glass bottles quite a bit.

We can easily add whatever forums the BOD wants... It's super easy.

Right now the big hold up is the domain name. We're working on getting control of it and once we have that (hopefully soon) we'll be able to point it at the new site.

If someone wants to give the new site a test drive, let me know and I'll send you the temporary address of the site.

I have no problem posting the temp address here, but the BOD needs to give me the OK to do that.

Very Very nice, Thanks for everyones efforts. I see we have actual sponsers? If they are paying sponsers can we have a list of them with links? I couldnt get the members list to come up.

The members list is still a work in progress. I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about building that...
