Finally! A dead-silent return pump

What is an easily available and safe rubber or foam platform to put under my internal pump. I hear mouse pads but there are so many of them made of so many different materials some with paint and graphics...etc...I dont trust using a mouse pad.

My Mag 9.5 mounted on a mouse pad is also dead silent. Ive herd they are noisy But my 90 is super silent, I cant hear the sump, skimmer or return pump.

Man. Every time I think I found a nice quiet pump someone comes and says other wise.. This quiet pump hunting is getting old.

can anyone confirm 5000 is as silent as 3000? I have ehiem 1260 to replace, quiet but vibrates, need to kill.

I can confirm my Diablo dc 10500 is as silent as the speed wave 3000 I have as well so the 5000 should be as silent.

I can't wait for the DC power trend to take hold. By nature the DC pumps are quieter and use less power. Good to hear that you're happy with your pump. I may make the switch to DC soon as well.

Salty Supply is showing as of today the DC3000 as out of stock and 'discontinued'. They have listed a DC4000 for 30 extra bucks with 'details coming soon' and a 'new product' label. I am curious to hear user's experiences on the 4000

I was looking into the Eheim 1262 because it is regarded as quiet but I believe I am with you. I will have this tank in my living room to the left of my couch. I would say about 3 - 4 feet from me. Would that pump be too loud for you in my set up?

am still running a Poseidon/Velocity T4 I believe and I can tell you am willing to put this side by side with any other pump out there for it's quietness.

on a side note I have heard good things about the DC pumps!

i have a mag 18 that made the most god awful wracket , until i got a silicone pot holder and put it under it and up the side where it was toching a baffle. i have to check to make sure its running now all the time because its older and i don't know how much more life it has lol.dc return pump is my next planned investment though
