Finally a tank that I am proud of

After a year and a half, and several months of battling hydroids and hair algae, finally, I have arrived at the promised land of a tank that I am happy with. 26g soon upgrading to 50g after I build a stand and get some plumbing sorted out. The picture uploading requirements are a bit ridiculous, so I guess I will try onedrive for the first time. Also a google drive link attached

Looks really nice...

Just wish our display could reach that point. Still having a bit of a GHA issue. Think I've finally got it going the right way with tons of changes... but yeah I'm sure we're still months off from being "happy" with it. Still embarrassed for local reefers to check it out :(

Oh yes, dosing is an every day chore. Kalkwasser for top off, two part for what kalk doesn't keep up with. Magnesium added to instant ocean (purple not orange) every water change. Wish there was an easier way without dosing pumps, but dosing pumps might be in the near future after I get a 50g peninsula stand built (with tons of room underneath.) No kids so I don't build them at kiddie eye level like all the premade stands.
GHA and hydroids are a pain, even with everything at 0 (amm, nitrate, nitrite, phosphate) both still grew. I used lye mixed with RO water, squirted it all over the hydroids (or GHA, aiptasia, or even to "trim" back encroaching corals.) Not saying everyone should go out and put red devil lye in there tanks, but when all else failed, it did the trick for me.

Thanks everyone, not fishing for compliments here, just happy to finally have a nice one. Started in hobby 15 years ago, took a few years off before this tank, and for whatever reason this is the one that has had the best results. Have never bought a colony of coral, so everything in here was started from frags (i'm cheap, and I think half the fun is watching them grow.) Never ordered online, and only one LFS within several hours of here, a lot of these started off as rescue frags, LFS can't keep most sps alive for more than a week or so...

Yeah I was going to say that if you hadn't started dosing, you're to the point where it would be really beneficial based on your corals. Keep it up and they will continue to reward you. :)

I also hand dose on my 20, no room to setup my kamoer doser that I bought for my tank upgrade. xD
