Finally got lucky and caught him about 2am last night.

What kind of crab is it? And is it good or bad? I put him in my sump until I can figure out what to do w/ him.

Sorry for the blurry pics, but I couldn't get any better.

Most likely just a common crab that will end up eating different types of corals in your tank

i know the hairy ones are the ones you should definately stay away from. your pics are kinda blurry, can't really tell.

cant really tell for sure but you can keep it in the sump and slip it bits of food and enjoy him down there.

enjoy him??

find a trigger fish and let him enjoy him.

Pictures are too blurry to make an ID. However, I've always found that crabs with heavy duty claws like that one tend to be rather destructive of anything that doesn't move out of their way fast enough.

It is a ruby crab, it eats algae growing on your rocks. Once in a while it might kill and eat a stormatilla snail.

I have one in my tank.
