i am curious when he molts how long will it take for him to molt and should i supply a darker hidey spot for him ? his home atm is the ship but it doesnt seem very dark as i can see him in there. would he need a darker spot?
if he wants a darker spot he will most likely just look for one, mine is starting to build up the front and back of his cave so i better hurry and get him into his new tank so he can molt in peace and pleanty of room to stretch in there
I have already clarified its a male it has the small twiggy like things near its legs on its underbelly hes pretty docile he rests his smashers on the holes of the ship and just stares out at me
mine is deffinately not docile, he actually had a damsel snack last night and is waiting for the other one to make the same mistake of getting letting its guard down, how active is yours? does it walk around the tank at all?
hmm maybe he is just getting used to the tank, mine is deffinately active, he is constantly moving sand around and picking up after himself, he made a nice pile in the corner of his temporary tank of all the shells he has destroyed...even little parts of shells that have broken off
i think they're pretty bashful when you first get them... b/c mine built a burrow, and poked her head out for most of the day. but after a while, she started roaming and building different burrows on the other side of the tank. so they'll probably start swimming around and exploring after a few weeks.

yuh its the guy from petcity $49 but worth it, he was ordered in and hes exactly the colour i was after.
I plan to aquascape the tank soem more make it a softies tank, put some mushies leathers and xenia in there, and a smaller boat, i find this one too big takes up too much space.
