Well, its been a year now and i haven't ever run a sump or skimmer. fish are all active and tank has always looked decent. corals always open.
so i am using a 10 gal for my sump, put it all together with matt's (fewell) advice, and it works great!
i'm using a cpr cs100 overflow right now (thank you tbrill!) and some crap rio pump i had for the return. i believe its only rated at 250 gal/hr at 4 feet so i'm not getting incredible flow, but its at least working and my tank has never looked clearer in its life.
just thought i'd post and share my happiness with finally getting a sump.
i'll post pics of my tank soon
