I am so excited. My blue belly Regal died after a disaster occurred in my tank, my fault : ( so I began the search for a yellow belly.

NY AQuatic gets them in from time to time but I had never ordered from them before. I heard a few good things about them though so I decided to give it a try. I asked Michael when he would be getting more in. He said not for several weeks.

I was surprised to get an email a few weeks later letting me know he would have some in. He told me he would keep them for at least a week and make sure they're eating. I was sceptical since I know that getting them to eat can be a problem. I told him to only send me one that is aggressively eating since I don't have enough live rock in quarantine to sustain him.

To make a long story short Fedex messed up. Michael let me know of the mix up. The fish arrive two days later listless and the water was cold. He told me he would guarantee the fish regardless of Fedex's mixup.

The fish pulled through and was swimming around within a couple of hours of being released. Within two days he started eating mysis and continues to eat well. He did develop lympho but after all that stress I'm not surprised and I know it will cure up in time.

I know I need to post a pic but I haven't had a chance yet. He's shy when people get close to the tank. I will try during the week though.

I also ordered a YB Regal from NY Aquatics. He arrived in good shape but is not eating mysis yet(I had him for 2 weeks) He eats clams on a half shell and green algae sheets. Mine also developed some lympho but is getting better the last few days. He is very active and is always looking for his clams and algae sheets. I hope he starts to eat Mysis and pellets soon though. Michael at NY Aquatics said this fish was eating Mysis before being shipped so I hope he can start eating again soon. Anyway keep me updated on your fish.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi, I also got a yellow bellied Regal from Michael at NY Aquatic last week and he is eating frozen mysis and algea rubberbanded to a rock. He is about 3 inches long and eats like a total pig!! Gets along well with my 3 inch Majestic and Princess Parrot fish in my 200 gallon. I feel very fortunate as I have gotten Regals in the past from other dealers who swore that they were eating and they never ate. I would highly recommend NY Aquatic as a source of healthy fish. If a fish is not eating or healthy Michael will not send it. Lesley

I also just recently got mine from NYaquatic. Mine is doing very well and eating my frozen mix and fresh clams.

Update!

It's been two months and my Regal is doing well. Lympho is gone. He's been treated for flukes and is still in quarantine with a small Powder Blue Tang. They get along well and are both fat and healthy.

The Regal is also eating pellets now! He's not shy around people any longer. I'm going to transfer them to a 75 gallon tank so I can take down the quarantine tank. I will be moving in a few months and then I can finally set up my 360ish gallon tank. I can't wait for that. I hope to have these fish for many years to come.

I will upload pics as soon as I have more time. I got some good shots of them both.
