Good to hear it's still alive, best feeling ever when he first eats!!!

sorry to hear about yours. hope all gets better. patience is all mine needed. even thhough mine was running thin tward the end

misabi. yep thanks. to bad he eats 10.00 peppermint shrimp. lol

yeah it was a good day when i saw that he ate

I had a blue ribbon eel that ate everything (including Rod's food) until it carpet surfed :(. It ate krill, silversides, etc. The LFS I got it from had it with blue damsels and another eel (a snowflake) to help teach it to eat prepared foods. It ate damsels too, but I didn't have any in my tank :). I really miss that eel and would like to get another.

Very cool looking eel. GoodLuck.

thank you

yeah my guy is cool. hates people and light so far.

soon he will realize that my hand brings food lol

glad to hear things are starting to come together :)

Thank you very much. This eel is a project. But well worth it.

I actually saw him eat today. Usually he waits till I wlk away. This time I kept watching. He takes the food very delicatly and brings it back into his PVC and then tears it up. Awesome to watch

I work at an LFS, from what I've experienced soaking krill in garlic works amazingly. Sorry if this was already posted but felt it might help someone in the future. Glad to know yours is doing well, I love mine!

i appreciate any advice that anyone has lol. i have tried alot of stuff lol. im just happy he is eating now to get hime to frozen lol

I've gotten blues and blacks to accept live cardinalfish in feeding tongs, and eventually transition them to eating silversides from the same tongs. Best of luck!

well i has been a while since i posted in here.

just and update. he is still in the 14 gallon bio cube.

tried to feed silversides today and today is the first time that he ate frozen food!!!!!! so im probally one of the happiest fish owners right now lol

before taking silverside. he would always attack the mysis but never eat it. this time he thrashed around the silver side.

He always hides out in his pvc pipe and comes out everyonce and a while. he still hates light. every time i turn on the light he cowers into his pvc.

just wanted give share my excitment that he is eating frozen and give an update.

Hahahaha i recall that feeling =0)

They get use to the light, mine pokes his head out now and again when the lights are on, he's also been fully out a couple of times that I have seen.

lol yeah it is a nice feeling.

i feel proud and happy that mine made it through all the thing i have read and seen that said they wouldnt make it.

as a fish owner this is definatly one of the better feelings i have gotten.

i think he slowliy getting used to the light. i think the real issue is gonne be when he gets to his final home that has many times the lighting power. i hope that all goes well. over the next week or so i am going to build him his pvc home for the 55 gallon tank that will be his final home

just an update

today i buil a new pvc home for him the 55gallon tank. i moved him over this afternoon. so far he took right to the pvc so lets hope from here he does not go on a hunger strike or anything. He now resides with a fu man chu lio, a cockatoo waspfish and a marine betta.

so far so good. i will try to get pics up in the next couple days

I've been paying a lot more attention to ribbon eels lately as we (Renee and I) get tons of questions regarding keeping them with Scorpaeniformes, so I'm very interested in your experiences.

Well so far all is well. At first the fish that were already in were threatened by the ribbon. Today I checked before I came to work and all the fish were moving with no signs of aggression. So when I get out and the lights are on. I will watch ad I play video games lol

Well here you go with the pics. when i got home he was in the sump. it looks like his tail had a run in with the return. Or skimmer pump. looks like the tail got a little frayed He is still eating and i re did the eel proofing for the tank so lets hope it works.

This is the tank he is in. you can see the ends of the pvc. this is a standard 55
