Finally hosting!

This morning one of my clowns finally decided to go in and sleep in my RBTA. He was not in it last night when the lights went off but this morning he was happily swimming around among the tentacles. Very exciting! Let's hope the other clown will join in later today.

Will add some pictures tonight assuming the clown is still in the RBTA. So exciting!

That's always a good feeling! It took my percs a good 3 weeks or so to host theirs, but now they won't sleep anywhere else lol. Congratulations!

Just got home from work and the clown is now not in the anemone anymore. Is that normal behavior or why would it no stay in its host?

i have had my nem for about a month and they arent hosting mine yet but i also have an anemone tank and there is no way they cant host it lol.. if they were in there when they slept then i guarantee they will be hosting in a couple days.. they are just "testing the waters" sort of say..

They do leave their anemones at times. My two cinnamons will periodically leave their BTAs during the day, but they always come back to them after a little while.

What type of clowns are they? My false perc clowns won't host my rbta.

My clowns did not use the nem during the day, but the female slept in it at night and the male in my frogspawn (like he got kicked to the couch lol).

See if its in at night again tonight.

The clowns are semi Picasso (true percs).

Since one of them already slept one whole night in the nem (was in it when I went to bed last night and was still in it this morning when I headed out for work the hosting part is already taken care of. Now it is just a question of if they will come back in tonight again I guess.

Is it common for clowns to only use the nem during night time and ignore it during the day?

The percs I mentioned earlier only sleep in it at night, they're almost never in it during the day. So it can't be that abnormal...

I always thought the anemone hosted the clowns?

That is correct but I don't think anyone have said any different in this thread at least.

Anyway, the clown did not sleep in the anemone this night. Hoping it was not just a one time thing but that he will come back to it soon.

So time for an update. After sleeping pone night in the RBTA the clown (male) never went back or showed any interest in it again. I was a little bummed but at least I got to see one of the clowns sleep in it one night.

Well time passed and about a week ago the female started to show interest in the anemone. She started out by quickly swimming in and then out again. Well, after a few days of doing so she stayed in longer and longer. Just before we went and celebrated Christmas out of town she was more or less in the nem constantly dusing the day. When lights out she always darted back to he sleeping corner behind one of my return outlets.

Well, when we cam back last night from the holidays she was in the anemone sleeping happily alongside my anemone crab. The male has still not returned to the anemone though.

Here are some pictures and a video of all the action. :-)

Happy clown in RBTA

Thanks. Feels good to finally have a clown in an anemone. Waited a long time for this. Now the male just need to enter as well.
