I GOT COALINE GROWING!

It growing like nuts the tank has only been running about 5 months and ever since i started using one 18''atinic and 1 18'' sun glo, i see more and more ever day...its on my crabs shell and its deep purple. I love it i hear people cant get coraline to grow and they have had tanks for years...!!

Now if it only wouldn't grow all over the glass and clog the overflow....!

I had some growing under NO flourescent, but then it stopped when I got my MH. I am so confused.

Your situation is very common. While people can get some coralline growth under MH lighting, it seems to occur much slower.
You should be able to get good coralline growth under MH if you keep your Ca and alk really elevated. It seems to suck those two up!

I noticed i came on better when i dosed calcium about 2 times a week about 2mil a time...

Coralline growth is definately tied to your calcium/alk balance. Ever since I began dripping Kalk, it has been growing all over my powerheads.

mine is growing like crazy ...i notice a whole bunch of growth in just a days worth of time...

My Sally lightfoot crab keeps eating it off the back glass!

We keep our levels close to NSW...no coralline to scrape off the glass etc and corals still grow great.

IMO coralline only looks good on LR.

I wish I could get mine to stop growing. What a pita to get off the glass and everywhere else.

Yea mines been growing like nuts.. The mag float isnt strong enough to scrape it off the glass I have to use my finger nail.. its kind of a pain

I use paint scrapers. Nothing else works as well.
