finally made it to 500.....

Speaking of reflecting back up into the tank, I peeled the paper off the bottom acrylic on the 10. The plate under the tank I painted white. when you look down into the tank now you are pretty much blinded because the reflection is so bright, its weird. Its barebottom now so it really reflects. I have some of Dans acros in there so we'll see if the bottom side of them colors up since I am reflecting so much light back up. I'll give it a couple weeks and check them, it'll be a good little experiment.

Wow that is some impressive pics. It seems so dark though. What is wattage rating for this hood?

it's the 20k 250w equivilant. apparently it's just really blue in the pics, and brighter in real life. this was with the blue LED's at 100% and the White LED's at 100%. I believe they have sweet spotted it @ 80% Blue, and 100% White.... Let me dig up more pics.... brb

Those are some sweet pics. TO me they still look like they could be brighter though. I would wait for the the more powerful one also. I like the whole tank to be lit up. THe corals look really nice under the LED's. Very happy.

Very nice Larry you got that together quick! I like how the colors pop with the LED's great choice there

Thanks.

Dan, Take a look at these pics... the ones above were with the Blue and White LED's at 100% now take a look at these....

Here the guy is running the Blue @ 85% and the White at 100%. alot of the posters over on that thread who have one have adjusted the blue's to around that # for a more natural look. I still plan on holding out for the 400w version though, but this does seem a little brighter.. also apparently the tanks are brighter then the pics show when @ 100% for both.

I donno, the colors on the corals are great but I can't see any real difference in growth because we don't have a start date, and progression to the current date.

Russ did that with his Zeovit tank and took pix every month. I do the same so I can measure growth in the tank.

Is it me or does the Squammy seem to be reaching up for light?

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of an alternateive to MH lighting but think I would wait until it has been proven successful as well as the cost coming down some. I just cant justify $3K for a light on my tank.

yeah the 6' price is kinda high, I want to see the 400w version come out. a couple FTS above were from members who got the light in september 06, and updated with pics in Jan.

there appears to be growth, but I agree a timeline month by month would def. be better.

There does appear to be growth but the pix should be taken from the same point of distance and focal point each time. That is the only way to get a true refference on the growth.

true. Did you see this from page 1? it's the closet thing I have found to it.

That has some definate polyp extension!!! as far as the pic goes the top one is from a higher angle so the second one "shows more growth" because of the horizon point of referenc. The coral looks "taller".
