Hey need some advice. What size pump should i go with for my setup?. Originally i wanted a Eheim 1250 because of some advice on RC. But now im starting to wonder if i should have more... Any opinions?.
My 55 has the same size overflow so I would think the flow would be the same. I have a Mag 9.5 with a gate valve after it in case I needed to cut the flow, but it runs wide open. I have heard that Oceanic's 58 has a glass center brace, do you know if thats true? If so, I might get away with a single MH because the glass wouldn't cast a shadow (or melt!). Then again, the cost of an Oceanic tank might be more than a second pendant. I saw my LFS had an AGA 65 for $179. He would have to special order the Oceanic. I don't know what those run. So, is that power center like a power strip with individual on/off switches?

This is a really cool set-up.
How expensive ids that power center, I would like to have one--do you like it so far?
I have the same tank, and skimmer.

Well Some people have had problems with there MH tripping the breaker. So far i have both my 250WaTT HQI's and my fuge light on it with no problems and im loving it. It makes everything so much easier. Hope this helps and thanks for visiting! :)

Hello Big Kahuna!. Is the 65 Gal AGA a mega overflow?. If so.. $179 is a great deal, i payed around $245 for mine. I've owned a 58Gal Oceanic before and I don't notice much difference between this tank and the Oceanic. The Power center Is much like a power strip. It has a 15Amp resettable breaker and light up rocker switches. I have it plugged into a GFCI so my setup is pretty well protected. I really like the Power center. It makes turning on and off lights, pumps etc etc a lot easier and a lot more organized. I would def recommend it. Heres the cheapest i could find - http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/American-DJ-PC100A-8Switch-ONOFF-Power-Center?sku=801020
BTW. I already ordered a Eheim 1250(320GPH). I figured slow flow through the sump = more reaction time with Skimmer and fuge + the Tunze's will provide the flow in the display.

Yeah, I thought that was a real low price too. It was cheaper than my 55 cost 3 years ago. The guys that work there know what they are doing so I don't think it's a case of being uninformed like a Petco worker or something. If I had the dough I'd pick it up right now and hide it in the garage (apparently the wife thinks the kids should be clothed and fed first). That seems like a good deal on that power center. Do have timers on your lights? If so, I guess the timer would have to go in between the strip and the lights. I have those Coralife powerstrips with the built in timers which make life easy. I suppose THAT strip could be plugged into the power center. Hey! I just noticed you are in Monterey. I love it there. I grew up in Santa Rosa, CA and made trips down there all the time. I took my wife to the Aquarium a few years back and she was blow away. Keep up the fine work.

 . "apparently the wife thinks the kids should be clothed and fed first." Sounds about right, I have a little one my self so i know what you mean ;). Anyways I do not have timers on the power center. I'd say there is about 1 inch between outlets on the back. So im in search of some compact electronic timers.

I've been to Santa Rosa twice and i love the area!.

Well my Eheim 1250 and Tunze 6060 came into so i thought i would post some more pics.

Well my next order will be a tunze nano stream, Salt, Refractometer, LR and Live sand. Will the spending ever end??.

Hey thanks criminal. I feel kinda guilty for spending $138 on a power head.. BTW my brother has a show size queen angel like the one in your avatar. Not as blue though.

Hey. Been getting ready for a 3 day back packing trip so i haven't spent much time with the tank. :(.
