After a long drawn out ordeal with hair algae, and cyano, I think my tank lookd good enought to finally post a few pics of it. This is my first attempt at salt water, not my last (working on a 20l). Can't go any bigger than that yet. My water parameters have been pretty stable, nitrates at or below about 5, Ph steady at 8.2, salinity at constant 1.024, temp 79-81. Tankmates include, 4 Nassarius, 1 Cereth (want another), Cleaner Shrimp, Neon Goby and the Chromis. GSP's and the Xenia is all I have for now

Nice start, but I would not suggest using that substarte in your 20l. Crushed coral tends to trap uneaten food and cause parameter problems. Keep us updated.

I was thinking about going with the Indo-pacific black. Quite a bit finer and I like the color of it, its not straight black, but enought black to hopefully set off the colors of the corals and fish.

I just cut my feedings down to almost the point where I wasnt sure if it was enough for the fish, and A LOT of time. I waited for this crap to go away for what seemed like forever. I started to get used to it. I thought about the red slime stuff, but I really wsa hesatent to put any kind of chemical in the tank.
Thanks for the feed back.
