finally something New!

Oh yeah, I'm not saying that lighting won't work, just the performance of those bulbs isn't too good. Sanjays site is my lighting bible..lol.
And Dan's tank does look great too ;) Dan, did you switch to 20k's? I thought you were using 175w Reeflux 10k bulbs when I was there last spring...but I could definitely be wrong.

I think it will do for now, My next bulb ballast combo will be 250w radiums on new icecaps. I want to see how this goes for now.

Update

Here is what I have done so far, hopefully trying to get a coat of paint on it tonight.

Canopy is half done and will get done this week sometime. Just got all my vho stuff in today.

Tank painted.

Take a few pics when you attach the sockets to the reflectors. I like the way they turned out.....so I might need to make myself 3 of them ;)

Here is what I got done today.

Picked up some mogul base sockets from Friedman Electric for $12 a piece
Used just sheet metal I have laying around to fab a bracket to it.

I just cut out a square shap then bent it to an "L" shape and molded it to the socket / reflector. then pop rivet.

I also have 2 fans to add to the back of the canopy and I need to cut out holes for and install.

This will be a floating canopy hanging off the tank a few inches.

Here is a shot of the inside of the canopy with reflectors, VHO endcaps/standoffs and Painted white with Killz

Here is the outside of the canopy with 1 stain, I have chosen to do the top of the stand in the same stain.
