It's the way the pic turned out. It doesn't look like that in person. Last night I started messing with the settings on the phone so some pics look spot on and other look like AEFW
The AEFW takes circular bites out of the Acropora tissue by everting its tube shaped pharynx and sucking (or digesting using enzymes) the coral tissue out from the skeleton.
Here's a today shot after redoing the rocks and a bunch of corals are gone. The tank is dirty imo but hey its red bug free. I'll work on some up close shots this week.
