so I got a cube, couldn't pass up the deal. Anyway, all you peepz lookin to get rid of frags of anything let me know =)

got a 14 biocube, I love the size actually. Its going to be difficult with such low water volume but I think I can handle it(expecialy after finals!)with the rock and sand I only have around 10gals in there. I would like to get another 5lbs of lr and then some rublbe for the 2nd chamber and possibly some cheato. I have everything stock right now.

so far everything is at 0 besides nitrates wich is at 10(assuming my test kit is accurate, its freshwater). I bought 10lbs cured rock, ls and premixed saltwater. so that might have helped with the minicycle. Yesterday I had a little ammonia and nitrite, but seems to be gone now. Only life I have in there now that I know of is hermits.

I want to mainly make this an invert tank with 1 or *maybe*2 fish. I'm thinking a goby/shrimp pair and 1 clown unless I can come up with a pair of clowns for cheap. But the goby and shrimp are the main reason I bought the tank..lol. I can't seem to find any pistol shrimp though.

I dont really have plans to get any corals as of right now. I just dont have the experience and want to get everything in check before I start heading in that direction.

any suggestions

on a cube? that would require me taking the top off though right? I would like to keep the lights it came with for now.

what do ya'll suggest I do in the chambers? currently stock

chamber 1: overflow...it has a bottom and a top intake and came with a filter media cartridge simular to that of a hob filter.

chamber 2: wet/dry came with bio balls

chamber 3: has a sponge at the bottom of chamber 2 comming into chamber 3 which houses the pump. The pump is equal in flow to a mj400

I was thinking of turning chamber 2 into a refuge or atleast just filling it up with LR rubble and toping it off so I can get more water volume, this would also top off chamber 3.

do ya'll think I should block the bottom intake as to start surface skimming?
