Finally Upgraded-Pics Included!!!

Ok,
Well I am just about back to normal, wait I was never normal to begin with!

Back to MY normal self, with a small exception that occured last night and has been hurting since, which I intend to contact the hospital about in the morning.

Anyhow,

I will try to get some pictures of the changes I made, and give a rundown of everything in the next couple days.

Nick

Yes I did,
But wacked out on high doses of Demerol made it hard to enjoy them. Oh that and being married, cant forget that! LOL

BTW,
Thanks for all the well wishes everyone, it means alot, this was a very taxing adventure for me.

An 8-9 week period which seemed like an eternity.

You ever going to tell us what happened to you? Did your appendix rupture?

Edit*

I had given a long drawn out story, but I will compact it, its boring to hear all the details.

Long story short, for the last year or so my Gallbladder has been giving signals it had been in trouble.

It all came to a head 8 weeks ago, when I started having VERY VERY sever attacks that would lay me out on the floor/ground for anywhere from an hour to 3-4

In short, it was starting to rupture, and after seven weeks of all kinds of tests ( heart, various cancers, etc.... ) an ultrasound finally hit the mark.

I was told I had the worse Gallbladder the hospital and doctors had ever seen, and that it was at the point of causing serious problems even fatal.

Its been 2 weeks tomorrow since the surgery, and aside from sore from the incissions, I had been doing great. Until last night, and I am going to have to go back to the doctor and or hospital I think. Hopefully I just pulled something but there is something not right.

Anyhow, thats the compact story, if you want details just ask. I will answer any questions about it that I am able too.

Wow. I don't even know what that thing does, although I've heard of it many times in my life. Did they cut out a section, or remove it entirely?

Sorry you are having some kind of relapse, and hopefully they can fix you back up 100%.

They took it out completely.

Thanks,
Hopefully it isnt a relaspe, just a normal "phantom" pain. Either way, the hospital has been informed, and I am waiting for them to tell me if something needs to be done.

Ok,
Finally got a few pictures last night that I am not ashamed of!
I have only had time to load the full tank shot onto my website ( which is FINALLY being updated throughly ) but will have some coral closeup pics probally by tomorrow for you all.

Some of the changes that I decided on were as followed:
I decided to make this a mixed reef, I know its not everyone cup of tea, but I really liked the 75 gallon one I had running for 4 years. To me the mixture of LPS/SPS/Softies/Clams looks better than a system devoted entirely to SPS. Dont get me wrong a mature healthy SPS dominated system is nice, but there is typically no sense of motion, and in an aquatic environment id like to see a little.

Anyhow, another small change I made was some tweaks to the aquascape. I decided to bring it down lower, for me it makes it easier to keep a high flow system for the SPS I keep, but still have spots for LPS/Softies that require lower flow areas. Dont ask, for some reason it really is easier for me this way. Plus I like it better, it looks more 3D.

Another change has to do with filtration. Like I stated earlier, I am going back to what always worked best for me. One of thoses things is not running carbon 24/7. I am only going to run carbon once a month for no longer than a week. I think that running it 24/7 has advantages in a heavily stocked grown out system, but mines still in it infancy and I dont see a need to run it that much. I will adjust my use of carbon as time goes on, if needed.

I also, took out one of the Seio1100's and replaced it with 2-MJ1200's. I am able to get a move chaotic flow on one side and a more gentle flow on the other that way. Also at some point I am going to set up a 20gallon SPS ONLY system, and wanted the extra Seio for it. In addition, I put 2-MJ600's behind the rocks on the bottom ( pointed at an angle to the bottom ) to help keep the BB setup clean of pileups, its really working well I should add.

One last change I made was the switch back to 20K's. I liked the XM10K's but did not really like the colors of the corals. I am a firm believe that its a combonation of correct lighting/good filtration nutrient export/proper water flow & stable correct parameters that are needed for coral health and coloration. Not simply focusing on just one aspect. Since all the others are correct I decided to try out the 20's again, and so far I am really happy with them. Even more so then when I ran them before. My colorations is a lot better, and it seems my growth and polyp extension ( especially on the SPS ) is much better also.

So here is the system as of last night, most of theses changes above were made several weeks ago, but as stated earlier I have been much to sick to do much posting/picture taking. Like I said earlier, I will get some closeup pics by tomorrow.

I meant to add, my plan is to use the upper right hand bridge/shelf for SPS to keep them higher and in a more chaotic flow from the LPS/Softies. You can see I am keeping the majority of the softies down in the bottom 3rd of the tank, this will be pretty consistant from here on out. It gives me a good amount of room for everything, while still keeping them somewhat seperated.

Thanks Marc,
I have a lot of Spawn avatars!

I keep thinking of things I meant to mention that I changed. I am also no longer dosing B-ionic. Aside from 10gallon water changes every two weeks, I am about to start using Kalk in all topoff water.

More images tomorrow.

I didn't even realize that was Spawn. My son loves him, and has about a dozen 12" tall figurines on shelves in his room.

Good Kid!:D

Off to bed now,,,loaded pictures for tomorrow. See you then.

Here are some halfway decent shots of a few of the new softies I put in the system over the last month or so. All of which were frags from my brother in laws 55 gallon system.

This single shroom was really nice too, and is already starting to split, just cant get a picture of it from the angle I have to shoot from. It looks much nicer in person.

This was a single stalk of pretty banged up xenia. It has already split into two stalks and is starting to pulse nicely.
