Thanks for the comments guys......i post here because you are the only ones who understand my insanity!!!!

Great looking Hawaiian Flame, but alot of work with a fish that small. I liken it to having a newborn that needs to eat every couple of hours. Good luck and of course post pics of its progress.
(BTW, I also opted to go Hawaiian with my tank. I currently have a trio of Bandits and a Moorish Idol. Hoping to get my hands on some flame wrasse soon. There are some great fish being collected out of Hawaiian waters.)

Very cute little fish. What are the differences between a Hawaiian flame angel and the more common Marshall Islands/Christmas Island flames?

:thumbsup:she is just awesome guys....and wow is she tiny! And promise to post some pics as soon as possible....

Hawaiian flames tend to be more on the red side and are scarce in the islands, this particular girl was caught just around 35 feet, where the diver (Rob) suspects that there is a mated pair that lies deep and occasionally spawn, as he said that he runs into juvies around the same location a few times a year.

Also many of the flame angel collected in Hawaii are the Marshal Island variant. I would guess 98% are Marshal Island variant. True Hawaiian flame angel are very rare.
