Finding an acrylic heat strip

I'm looking to do an in-tank fuge that would hand on to the rim of the tank, which I believe would require a heat strip.

Would Lowes or HD have a decent heat strip for this kind of thing, or should I look elsewhere?

The idea I have is the same as Melev's photo box, but add holes/slots for the water to easily pass through it:

what thickness of material are you trying to bend? I have one and tried to use it on 1/4" with very little success. I have much better luck with the propane torch and a little patience.

Go to harbor freight and get yourself a heat gun..... 10 bucks or so. Then heat both sides of the strip and bend it over a 2x4 or length of metal pipe.

Hmm... Didn't think about a heat gun...
