Finding Dory announced for November

 Ooohh great idea! Dory in a fishbowl! The ultimate pico! I do know one thing. I want to upgrade to a 180 so I can have a hippo tang, and maybe a yellow tang. I love my scopas tang (the only tang I have at the moment of course) so he stays. I have a 120 now. If nothing else at least I can dream. :spin3:

"I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’

I love Ellen lmao

I am organizing something with several reef forums and I have contacts at Pixar to try and have an info/educational campaign to accompany the release of the movie.

If anyone is interested in participating it would be great to have Reef Central involved as well!

Please PM me if you are interested in participating.

Contact Dory

Contact Dory

Would not be a bad idea to actually try and contact "Dory" after all she does actually have her own show and it would be hilarious to see what she would come up with to educate people that you can't just evict the freshwater fish from the 20 gallon tank you got for the kids at Walmart dump some salt in and then throw a 60 dollar Hippo Tang in it.

educational a must

I agree there should be something at the beginning of that movie about responsible fish ownership

Think of all the cheap equipment we'll have access to after the new group becomes frustrated & gives up ...

Exactly what I was thinking...

"Dory can actually reach 12" in length and requires a 240 gallon tank."

Should just show parents how much it costs to really keep a Dory ;)

I have to admit that finding nemo helped to push me into this hobby. I didn't rush out to buy a fishbowl and a clownfish, but it certainly planted the seed. I actually think movies like these help to encourage more participation in our hobby. Those that stick with it will see the benefit. Those that unsuccessfully try to rescue Dori, will learn to stick with soccer.

I think we need to encourage more responsible fish selling IMO (at least more education for those selling to present to consumers). Ultimately, people will buy what they want to buy. But there is no reason to send a kid home with a panther grouper for their 10 gallon tank (saw this once at a now-closed lfs)

Yeah what Gets me is when I read or hear conflicting info from different LFS and or hobbyist... Who can a new guy trust? If I see it in your tank and its still alive and happy after a month or two... Then I trust ya... That goes for my LFS and my friend both

I approve this message, I'd hate to see people think that it's a old idea to put a tang in a fish bowl

LiveAquaria.com has a PSA on the clownfish page in relation to "looking for Nemo" Hopefully they will do the same about "Dory"
Either way, Im looking forward to the new movie when it finally does come out!
