Finding LFSs that have quarantined fish?

There is a local here that qt’s their fish. They have a set up right out in the open where they do it. Only one that does it and they do charge more but it is worth it. At the same time they tell people that they should qt the fish themselves.

Also, a lot of the store nearby my house simply run a therapeutic level of copper in their tanks, as well separating the inverts from the fish.

Even worse, I think a lot of stores that say they run copper in their tanks actually do /not/ run a therapeutic level, but somewhat less that that. Copper is expensive and a bit tricky to keep at therapeutic levels requiring frequent monitoring, so often they just keep some copper in their tanks which can mask the symptoms of some parasites, but not totally kill them. Additionally often fish are only at the LFS for a few days before they are sold, so even if the copper is at proper levels the fish haven't been in the copper for long enough to treat anything anyway.

Like you, many stores near me use copper and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing, but just because they use copper doesn't mean that I don't quarantine the fish after I get them home.
