Finicky eater, need advice

I bought two clowns a week ago, and at the start, one wouldn't eat at all and the other would eat the food only to spit it out a second later.

Since then then former has died, and the latter is now not even eating anymore.

The LFS said they feed theirs frozen mysis shrimp, so I've been using that. I also bought some frozen brine shrimp. Additionally, I've tried some of the Kent Garlic Extreme to stimulate their appetite.

Nothing works so far and I'm worried the surviving clown will starve.

The only other fish in the tank is a small yellow-tailed damsel who I have never seen aggressive toward the clown.

Any advice on what the clown might like to eat? Like I said, I'm worried he's going to starve to death if he doesn't eat soon.

Maybe he's still shocked from being introduced to the tank. How much did you aclimate him?

For an hour using the drip method. It's been more than a week, think he should still be in shock?

I cant believe a clown isnt eating. Does he have brook or something?

That's a good point...he could be ill.

Well, unfortunately, he died last night. I guess I just wasn't meant to keep clowns

I'm guessing some sort of illness, unless they were EXTREMELY stressed in the tank. Most tank raised clowns will readily eat just about anything that hits the water.

Any hard breathing, signs of damage, spots, etc?

Yeah, there's no way that your clowns just decided not to eat...something else had to be wrong...sorry for your losses!!!

I didn't see any damage of any kind. One was the normal orange color but the other was a really nice deeper shade of orange.

All the fins seemed fine, not visible signs of damage. They weren't gasping at the surface.

The only peculiar behavior I noticed was that they didn't want to find refuge in amoungst the live rock at night. Well, one did on the first night but after that they just stayed out in the open. In contrast, the damsel found a spot to hide every night. There are plenty of caves and overhangs too. I might have a bit too much rock in the tank and tried to make as many hiding places as possible.
