hey all.. i have a fire worm (or at least i think its a fire worm) it has spikes all ove rit , it lives in my LR . does anyone have any proven ways to remove it?

all i have is 1 clown, 1 blenny, 2 shrimp , and a bunch of hermits, no corals, or anenomees yet,
i only started the tank on Labor day

99.9999 percent of all worms commonly seen in the hobby are beneficial to your tank. Some say oenones are harmful: I had four that were great with corals and fish; most everyone dislikes eunice worms [tentacles on head]. Bristleworms are rated by some authorities as essential for good feeding of corals, since they predigest the food.

Sk8r is right, does it look like this? If so, you're fine it's a common bristle worm.

When your tank is mature you'll have thousands of them. They're beneficial, they eat deterius (sp) and sift the sand for you. I know it's tempting but don't let you brother in law kill 'em!!!!

the first day he tried to stab him with a bbq fork.. he thinks he hit him.. we didint see any blood or guts upon alleged contact..
also we havent seen him since....BUT in the same spot that we atbbed him in.. yesterday we saw these legs or claws coming out from the spot where the worm was..i have no idea what it is , but no matter what it is..WE ARE DONE HUNTING
